MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Southern Illinois Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
Coalition is to create a network of individuals, families and professionals
dedicated to increasing awareness of issues related to parenting across
generations and to organizing resources and seeking solutions that resolve the
challenges.

The coalition will accomplish the mission via the following goals:

·      * Develop a network that advocates and connects grandparents raising        
          grandchildren

·       * Investigate financial and technical resources to enable the coalition to       
          accomplish its mission

·        * Equip leaders with educational resources to develop support groups to    
            nurture the well-being of grandparents raising grandchildren

·         * Explore technology to promote a grandparents support network via a      
            monitored website and other electronic communications tools
